Just passing along the happy news I got today that my poem "Attempts at Flight" was chosen as a finalist in Yemassee's 2012 Pocataligo Poetry Contest. My name will be listed in the upcoming magazine and website as a finalist, and the poem will be published on Yemassee's website. :)

Update on Alex Lumans (MFA '09)

In case you've been wondering what a certain redhead's been up to, here's an update from Alex Lumans:

I had a story accepted and published recently at Clarkesworld called "All the Things the Moon is Not". They also have it available as an audio podcast for download.
http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/lumans_05_12/

The Blue Mountain Center in upstate NY offered me a one-month Residency Fellowship, which I'll be heading to in a few weeks.

And then I'll go the ART342 Program in Fort Collins for six weeks because they also offered me an artist residency.

That certainly solves the question of how I was going to survive this summer. Sadly, it means I'll be missing the lovely Shea-Whittemore wedding.

love,
Lumans
