Melanie Martin (MFA '04) featured poet in new issue of PEARL

Melanie Martin, MFA '04, is the featured poet in the new issue of PEARL (#39, Fall/Winter 2009), a national literary journal based in California. Of Melanie's poems, editor Joan Jobe Smith writes: "In some of the most powerful, beautifully-written poems we've ever come across, she lays bare the emotional reality of a life haunted by loss--of lives and relationships destroyed by mental illness, of a beloved grandmother fading into Alzheimers." Nine of Melanie's poems are featured in this issue, along with a beautiful author photo!
